School year update 2004-2005
OK, enough update with the pictures; but sometimes that helps getting caught up.
Taylor has been having a fabulous year in 5th grade - most of the credit goes to Mr. Travis Boyd. He is a wonderful, talented, compassionate, Special Ed teacher that Taylor has the first half of every day. And that is also her "home" room. I can't begin to tell you what a difference it is from last year.
Taylor has also adjusted to our new church - Shiloh EFC - since ours closed in September. She now has friends - adults and kids that she knows and likes plus goes to AWANA every Wednesday night. And, talk about Awana - she is memorizing verses from the Bible faster than any one of my to other kids. She just loves it.
Yesterday in school - she went ice skating - of course, she uses her boots and walker but she does not care.
My goal over the next year is to have her dress herself, not that she can't but in the mornings before school we have limited time. I get her dressed and do her hair and then we do bathroom chores together.
When Britton was home around Christmas, she had a little talk with her about baths/showers; as she does not like taking them more than once or twice a week. She now agreed to take one at least 3 times a week. Well, she is 10 years old, you know....:0).
At bedtime, we have devotions together and pray. She loves to pray and openly offers in church/Sunday School and Awana. She has no fear of praying out loud and her prays are so open and honest. I love to hear her pray.
